Abstract :
High efficiency of unwanted lateral radiation attenuation due to application of radio absorbers based on metamaterials is shown in the paper by the example of the cellular base station antenna AMPA065-18. More than 10 dB far sidelobe attenuation of the radiation far-field patterns is obtained for both co-polarization and cross-polarization. The additional suppression in power gain is found to be less than 0.5 dB due to application of radio absorbers.
