  • Abstract
    Metal-dielectric clad integrated optical polarizers operating simultaneously at 1.3-μm and 1.5-μm wavelengths are reported. The principle of operation of the devices is explained. A dielectric-metal overlay length of 2 mm on a titanium-indiffused lithium niobate channel-waveguide is shown experimentally to result in an extinction ratio in excess of 50 dB at 1.3 μm and 30 dB at 1.5 μm
