Abstract :
The radiation and directional properties of a system with longitudinal slots in a rectangular waveguide having a longitudinal dielectric slab inside are examined. It is shown that the system´s operational frequency band is wider then that of a hollow waveguide configuration. However, the main beam radiation pattern is wider and the side lobes have a higher level. Nevertheless, the gain of the antenna with dielectric is 1.5-2 times higher at maximum frequencies than that for the hollow waveguide.
