  • Abstract
A surface-tracking model of the motion of the patella with respect to the femur is introduced. The model involves a radial translation of the patella as a function of angle, based upon a sine fit to the precalculated offsets between the articulating surfaces which result from rotation of the patella about a fixed axis.
