Abstract
A microstrip line with a ferromagnetic film excited by a magnetostatic wave (MSW) is a nonlinear device referred to as a signal-to-noise enhancer. In such a transmission line and in the frequency range of MSW excitation, a signal, whose power level is below some threshold value, is more attenuated than a signal whose power level is higher than the threshold value. On the basis of experimental data, an attempt is made to construct a nonlinear model of a backward volume MSW (BVMSW) transmission line. This model describes the frequency characteristics of such a line in the cases of one and two signal regimes.
