Abstract :
A new way for the thermal compensation of dielectric resonators (DR) is proposed for the DR made of high-quality, but not thermally stable, materials. Thermal stability can be achieved for such DRs in the case when the DR is cut into two parts with a small air slot between them. High Q factor is preserved, as well as a small-sized design. The range of applications of the proposed method is analyzed.
