Abstract
A digital human skeleton based on the Visible Human Project (VHP) dataset is constructed for the purpose of remote education. Firstly, each bone is reconstructed from the segmented 2D images using the Visualization Toolkit (VTK). The 3D skeleton data are then converted into Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) format. Finally, the 3D bone models can be observed, grasped virtually and assembled interactively on remote terminal computers with VRML browsers.
