  • Abstract
    Describes the form of team and the computer-supported system, named `teamware´, for team cooperative work; furthermore, the authors propose a work environment suitable for each team´s work, named a `teamware workbench´, which is realized by a layered architecture and the PilotCard system. Through the layered architecture, a member can successfully have his own personal work environment which allows him to maintain his private information and resources; in addition, a member could use the resources of his team as if they were his own property since the workbench supports the transparency between the personal layer and the common layer. On the other hand, through the use of a PilotCard, a member can maintain his private information, knowledge and feeling to his own work environment; moreover, it provides the function of access control among the members of the team. The experimental system has been developed in SUN3 workstations which are connected by an Ethernet LAN, and X Windows V11R4 software has been used for constructing the user interface
