Abstract :
An effective use of over-octave band TWTA is not possible without special gain correctors providing for a maximum signal passage at the high and low edges of the TWTA´s passband and the necessary fading (the depth of correction) closer to the medium frequency of the working range. We present the results of the development and investigation into the construction of a simple microstrip gain corrector on the basis of irregular half-wave resonators. In the 6-18 GHz band, the corrector provides for the depth of correction 15 dB with a VSWR not greater than 1.6. We have also shown the possibilities for realizing analogous schemes of correction with the overlap of frequencies from 2:1 to 5:1. The corrector is produced in the form of a thin film alumina plate of 7×6×0.25 mm size.
