Abstract :
Aiming at energy saving and chemicals consumption reduction in wastewater treatment plants, a new performance assessment system has been established, which is consisted of three subgroups and seven indicators. This paper proposes a quantitative index calculation method and qualitative index scoring method. Based on statistical analysis, literature research and expert consultation, the standard values, amendment coefficients and scoring grades for index quantification have been given. Applying this system to three WWTPs, the result shows it works well in practical assessment. So introducing performance assessment system helps the plants to realize their potential and approach of energy saving and chemical consumption reduction.
