Abstract
Recently, using peer-to-peer (P2P) techniques for streaming live events becomes more popular. A mesh-pull-based P2P architecture is desirable because it is easy to implement, robust to peer churn and has relatively low maintenance overhead despite higher streaming delay. In this paper, we focus on two factors that cause streaming delay in a mesh-pull-based P2P network - 1).startup segment selection, and 2). segment scheduling, and propose efficient and adaptive schemes respectively to reduce streaming delay and improve P2P performances.
