Abstract :
In this paper, an effective Schur complement method for transmission constrained dispatch (TCD) in a commercial Monte Carlo production cost program with consideration of contingencies is presented and many run-time reduction methodologies are also proposed. Due to the special structure of the TCD problem, it is very natural to apply the Schur complement technique with good performance. Numerical testing on a real-life large-scale power system is also presented to illustrate the performance of the proposed run-time reduction methodologies.
