Abstract
It is entirely right and proper to share memories of Dr. Carl Baum. Capturing who he was and how he contributed provides those of us who remain with visible goals and aspirations for our own behaviors and endeavors. Dr. Baum received a multitude of symbols and tokens for his achievements as a scientist. I have the good fortune to remember him in modestly different contexts that perhaps help us to understand better the whole man.
