  • Abstract
Many technical discoveries or inventions begin and end their existence in a university laboratory. Aware of this, both professors and students have asked perceptive questions about how to move their work from the laboratory to the marketplace. This paper provides introductory suggestions to some of the questions most commonly asked at UWBUSIS meetings over the past six years. Both suggestions about positive approaches to movement of their work and approaches to avoid are included. The paper concludes with a series of examples intended to illustrate the general concepts that explain successful behaviors in the marketplace.
