Abstract
The dynamics of a pre-regulated boost power-factor-correction (PFC) converter with average-current-mode control are studied. The stability boundaries are explained depending on the nonlinear system. The effect of the boost converter parameters on the system stability is analyzed for a wide variation of load and input voltage. The effects of input parameters, input voltage and input frequency are examined. Then, the effect of the output parameters, output load and output capacitance are also examined. Moreover, the feedback parameters, feedback resistance and capacitance in the voltage error amplifier are highlighted as a major contribution to the boost PFC converter stability.
