Abstract
The paper proposes a new technique for measuring parameters of narrowband shortwave signals in the over-the-horizon propagation environment. Issues of small-base diversity-reception antenna design and digital processing of multimode signals are discussed. The designed system of shortwave reception allows for the potential of diversity reception to be retained, at the same time employing spectral-polarizing techniques. The implementation of modern digital signal processing systems offers increased reliability, parameter stability and accuracy in multichannel reception systems. The developed algorithms of signal processing and the designed antenna system allow for a more reliable mode separation and determination of angles of arrival for multimode narrowband tilt ionospheric sounding signals.
