Abstract :
A standard communications protocol was developed for computerized electrocardiography (SCP-ECG), consisting of standards for the interchange, encoding, and storage of digital ECG data. This work was performed in three distinct, but closely related, workpackages. As part of Workpackage 1, consisting of standardization of the data contents, format, and messaging, a set of universal ECG statement codes was developed.
