Abstract :
This paper proposes a backup system for optical backhaul using Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) 802.11n with Multiple-Input Multiple Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) techniques. This backup system is needed in order to make sure the communication networks can still work when the optical network breakdown occurred. The system is simulated and analysed using OptiSystem software. The simulation results show that the backup system can operate up to 300 Mbps.
