Abstract
This paper analyzes the performance of field oriented controlled (FOC) inverter which is used for the grid synchronization of wind energy conversion systems (WECS). The performance of the grid side inverter with linear and non linear loads is analyzed. Also this research highlights the performance of the inverter when the optimum speed of wind turbine reaches below the cut-in speed and the reason for power transients at various power stages. This analysis emphasizes that, the FOC controlled inverter for grid synchronization is an excellent one for balanced loads. It improves the power factor and quality of the grid when non-linear inductive loads are connected in the grid. This analysis has been carried out using MATLAB/Simulink software.
