  • Abstract
A environmentally friendly and powerful technique was used for determination of parathion in water samples using hollow fiber supported liquid phase microextraction (LPME) followed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Some effective parameters on extraction, such as extraction solvent, pH of donor phase, extraction time, extraction temperature and stirring speed were investigated. Under the optimum conditions, the extraction solvent was ionic liquid, the enrichment factor of parathion was 110. The linear range was 1-100 ng/mL with a squared regression coefficient of 0.9989 and the detection limit was 0.1 ng/mL (S/N=3). The recoveries of spiked samples range from 93.8% to 104.0% with a relative standard deviation lower than 3.2%. It is needless to filtrate or separate for aqueous samples compared with other extraction methods.
