Abstract :
This paper studies performance of the disk MHD induction generator based on a quasi-one-dimensional under constant fluid velocity. The surface current density in winding coils of stator is defined by time harmonic function. The electromagnetic boundary condition is applied to determine vector magnetic potential and magnetic flux density distribution throughout the induction generator. Furthermore, relationship of gross power, mechanical power and power dissipation is considered with slip and magnetic Reynolds number. As a result, it is found that the efficiency of the disk MHD induction generator depends on magnetic Reynolds number and slip. Moreover, the gross power is increased by surface current density and frequency. Whereas, the height of generator channel is decreased.
