Abstract
In this paper an experimental analysis of the hybrid buck-type current source rectifier as an active front-end stage for an AC/AC converter for applications that require adjustable step-down DC-link voltage with improved upper voltage limit robust to unbalanced voltage supply and additionally eliminating the common mode voltage from its DC-link voltage. The proposed solution is to add two asymmetric H-bridge inverters in series with each of the DC-side terminals of the buck rectifier to allow injection of differential and common mode voltage in order to achieve the above goals.
