Abstract
This paper describes the design and construction of a matrix power converter rated at 400 V, 10 A for use in induction motor drive applications. A novel gate drive arrangement which has transformer isolation and does not require the use of isolated power supplies is used. Experimental and simulation results are given to confirm the correct operation of the circuit
