Abstract :
This paper discusses the analysis of a coplanar waveguide (CPW) to stripline transition on a silicon substrate. To match a 50 /spl Omega/ CPW to a 50 /spl Omega/ stripline, alterations must be made to the geometry of each line in order to suppress the parasitics introduced by the transition discontinuity. The modifications necessary to effectively maintain the return loss above 20 dB over a 0-20 GHz range are presented.
