Abstract :
In the present paper, the effective spectral synthesis in Lomakin et al. (2000) is used for a systematic spectral construction of the effective (i.e., homogenized) fields due to sources in the presence of a complex (i.e., multi-scale) dielectric laminate. The sources may be located either inside or outside the complex laminate plate, but for both cases we emphasis the field inside the plate which is dominated by the source-excited modes. Via numerical examples it is demonstrated that the effective modes provide an accurate and well parameterized model for the true source excited field over large propagation distances, Following Steinberg and Heyman (1998), a generalization of the theory to laterally nonuniform plates is discussed.
