Abstract :
This paper considers the generalized problem of eigenstructure assignment for linear invariant MIMO systems with a state-feedback matrix. The original idea is to obtain desired eigenvalues and at the same time to achieve two objectives with the eigenvectors. Some desired components of specific eigenvectors to have mode decoupling are placed and the sensitivity of the assigned eigenvalues is minimized using the remaining degrees of freedom to compute feedback matrix. A new eigenstructure assignment procedure is derived to satisfy these two objectives. An example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this method
