  • Abstract
The paper is focused on PWB structures and laminates, based on glass as dielectric substrate or even a conductive substrate as solid aluminum and the dielectric as a thin sheet between the base metal and the layer containing traces. The purpose is to evaluate these structures from the electromagnetic viewpoint and to observe, when metallic interconnection structures are placed on them, the behavior in frequency range in order to be useful to engineers interested to introduce latest PWB technologies into their electronic products. The research has estimated the limits of these structures in high speed, high frequency and microwave ranges and established the frame in which they are suitable for mass production and can replace, in specific cases, the standard structures.
