Abstract :
In this article, the time-domain physical optics (TDPO) is extended with the edge equivalent currents to include the non-uniformity of the induced currents near a reflector rim. These equivalent currents are obtained from the frequency-domain Michaeli´s (1984, 1985, 1986) currents by means of an analytical signal representation used to transform the corresponding frequency-domain radiating fields into the time-domain. The TDPO plus time-domain equivalent edge currents (TDPO+EEC) is implemented to perform the analysis of a hyperbolical reflector antenna excited by a Rayleigh pulse and the results are compared with those obtained from the TD-UTD extended with a higher order slope diffraction term.
