Abstract :
Transient analysis of a plane wave impinging obliquely on a homogeneous medium has been studied by several researchers. Previous results have been restricted by requiring a specific input waveform, employing numerical solutions or using approximations. In this paper, an exact analytical solution to the problem is obtained, and appropriate approximations useful in practical applications are provided for TE-polarization. Results for TM-polarization can be obtained using similar techniques.
