Abstract :
According the theories of information processing and model recognition, a comparison of the waveforms of internal and external rectoanal sphincters (IAS/EAS) with the impulse response function of a 2nd degree system was made. Impulse response functions of IAS/EAS were also obtained from the analysis. Twelve dynamic parameters were derived from these functions. The parameters can be used for describing the impulse response properties. Using the data of the waveforms, the parameters could be calculated very easily without the need for complex instruments. These parameters are useful not only in clinical practice but also in computer simulation of IAS/EAS
