Abstract :
Presented a study of the performance of delta switching interconnection networks (INs). Delta networks are used for interconnecting processors to memory modules in multiprocessor systems. Buffered delta networks use buffers to store the incoming packets. A new model for the multibuffered delta networks, called dynamic buffered delta networks, are proposed and examined. The buffered delta networks which were proposed before may be called static buffered delta networks. A simulator is used to compare the performance of static and dynamic buffered delta networks considering the throughput and delays. It is demonstrated that the dynamic buffered delta networks improve the network performance by a considerable amount
