Abstract :
This paper presents a new method for triangulation of implicit surfaces. Particle system is used for sampling on the given implicit surface to get steady and even particles. Two normal added vertices are obtained by extending the particle to an equal distance along the out normal vector and the inner normal vector. Two different methods for triangulation of implicit surfaces are presented. One is the particles and normal added vertices are combined together and divided into tetrahedrons, then delete the normal added vertices and the edges which relate to these vertices. The other is only dividing the normal added vertices into tetrahedrons, then traverse all of the tetrahedrons to find the triangles on implicit surfaces and achieve the final triangular mesh. Examples are included in the end to demonstrate the efficiency of the new methods.
