  • Abstract
    A new method for implementing the impedance boundary condition (IBC) of tunnel environment is presented, which is used in the Alternate Direction Implicit (ADI) method for solving the parabolic equation. The proposed method has fourth-order accuracy, and is used in the prediction of radio wave propagation in tunnels. Simulation results show that the proposed method not only has higher accuracy than available methods, but also retains the computational efficiency of the available methods with lower order accuracy.
