  • Abstract
    This paper presents an application of adaptive control to a commonly used thermal process. The studied process is hot water production for domestic use. Modelling leads to a nonlinear third order system with variable dynamics. To deal with these features, two adaptive strategies are implemented: pole placement and generalized predictive control (GPC). Results are discussed and compared to a simple fuzzy controller
