Abstract
This paper deals with the basic concepts of asynchronous circuits, state-of-the-art tools and methodologies for design of asynchronous circuits. This paper covers the aspects such as specification, architectural design and controller synthesis tools of asynchronous circuits. The design methodology of control circuits based on specifications with signal transition graphs is presented. This paper also deals with the design of complex circuits with different clock domains and desynchronisation of synchronous circuits.
