  • Abstract
Next generation personal communication service (PCS) networks are high-capacity cellular networks. Cell size has to be decreased when the system is required to support high-throughput data transfer and multimedia communication. With high density of the mobile terminals (MTs) and small cell sizes, location management is one of the most important issues for the next generation PCS networks. The problem of optimum location management is a trade-off between location update and terminal paging. In addition, paging delay is a serious concern for quality of service (QoS). In this paper, we propose a comprehensive network management scheme based on userpsilas behavioral feature for next generation wireless networks namely behavioral-feature based scheme (BaFaS). As an application example we proposed location management scheme, using mobility feature. The experimental results show that the BeFaS for location management outperforms the distance-based update with selective paging.
