Abstract :
In a distributed processing environment, good management tools make the environment very reliable. We have developed a prototype of distributed systems management software, which is called HANURI/M. HANURI/M provides configuration, fault and performance management services in a distributed environment. Performance management is one of the most important distributed management functions. HANURI/M monitors the network traffic and the utilization of system resources for performance management. It can also set factors such as the polling interval time and threshold values before carrying out the monitoring. HANURI/M analyzes the results and controls the environment. Some results presented in this paper show the values and give some hints for performance management. The performance management services of HANURI/M help us improve availability in the distributed environment
