Abstract
The two lasting contributions of business reengineering are an emphasis on processes and the recognition of the importance of knowledge and its management to an organization. The process orientation finds an expression in workflow systems. Less attention is being given to knowledge management. In this position paper we examine how knowledge management relates to the development and operation of workflow systems
