Abstract
We performed optical-pump terahertz-probe measurements on antiferromagnetic MnO. The transient decrease in transmission at the peak of THz single-cycle pulses suggests that photoexcited carriers are produced in MnO. Below the Neel temperature, magnon scattering mainly contributes the relaxation of photoexcited carriers.
