Abstract :
The author presents an update of the progress of the Photovoltaics for Utility Scale Applications (PVUSA) project and discusses key decisions or procedures which have been established. The purpose of the project is to evaluate several PV technologies obtained through component and complete system procurements. Several evolving versions of PV technology, including both flat-plate and concentrating systems, will be studied. Other participating utilities will install, operate, and evaluate similar PVUSA segments at their sites. Project planning, scheduling, and data analysis techniques are also discussed.
