  • Abstract
This study explores the mechanism of how emotional intelligence regulates emotional exhaustion based on the questionnaire survey of 387 Chinese employees. The results show that emotional intelligence is negatively related to perceived work stress and emotional exhaustion, and that work stress fully mediates the relationship between emotional intelligence and emotional exhaustion. Theoretical and practical implications of this study for psychological health and emotion research are discussed.
