  • Abstract
A new design of compact dual-band chip antenna for 1.95/2.14GHz WCDMA applications by low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology used in mobile handsets is presented. The geometry of antenna comprises a helix structure and a double layered meander structure with the dimensions of 10×3×1mm3. The design was simulated and showing impedance bandwidth and radiation characteristics at the two bands. The bandwidth (VSWR<;2:1) are 90MHz and 110MHz at the 1.95GHz band and 2.14GHz band, respectively. Besides, good gain and omni-directional radiation patterns within the operating band indicate that the proposed antenna is well suited for portable devices.
