Abstract :
In turning during machining, the machine tool is considered as an open-loop system for the cutting forces. An adaptive control is applied to take into account the cutting force variations. The first stage was the development of an adaptive control strategy for a lathe. Good results were obtained in comparison to others available. In the present work, the improved adaptive control strategy takes into account the dynamic of the feed and the input saturation nonlinearity that were neglected previously. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme
