Abstract
Today, the technology of RFID is not exploited to the maximum in automobile sector. There is no system that helps in tracing back the motion history of vehicles in case of a collision. This system provides a solution to this shortcoming thereby facilitating effective investigation over the pre-collision scenario. By storing the subsequent records of path taken using Tag Node Position (TNP) and the vehicle´s speed data along with the time the TNP is encountered, the motive of the driver if there was any, could be revealed. This paper also illustrates using the proposed RFID system to monitor sponsored vehicles, by eliminating the chance of user counterfeiting his usage. Implementation of smart roads that is, roads free of traffic sign boards and speed limit boards is hereby made possible through In Vehicle Display Module ( IVDM). The Tag Nodes are burned with necessary road safety information. Easy location of places is another application projected in this system, helping visitors and tourists.
