Abstract :
A simplified differential spectral responsivity (DSR) apparatus that is easily operated and well suited for installation and use in an industrial laboratory is describes, its performance is discussed, and typical results are presented. The authors also describe its application to the measurement of effective diffusion lengths of the minority carriers in the base using the so called constant differential photosignal method, which is a modified surface photovoltage method. The special features of the DSR method and its applicability to nonlinear solar cells (i.e. cells with a nonlinear short-circuit current irradiance characteristic) are discussed.
