Abstract :
In ship operations the consequences of roll motions can seriously degrade the performance of mechanical and personnel effectiveness. Stabilising fins are used to alleviate these problems. Rudders, which have been extensively modified, have been used exclusively to stabilise roll. This paper examines the H and μ-synthesis technique to design controllers for existing fin and rudders
