Abstract :
A single diode mixer with ultra high LO/RF and LO/IF isolation and having good conversion loss has been designed. RF and LO signals are applied through BPF and LPF respectively. The mixer operates in C-band. It down converts the block of frequencies (5.925-6.425 GHz) to a block of frequencies (3.7-4.2 GHz) by local oscillator of signal frequency of 2.3 GHz. The proposed mixer achieves the double balanced functionality with the help of single diode and avoids the need of RF and LO baluns. The conversion losses are around 10 dB and the amount of isolation are around 60 dB. The filters are designed with microstrip. The transmission lines are synthesized and the designed circuits are through Genesys and ADS.
