Abstract :
Very recently (since 2001), the emerging metamaterials (MTMs) have created new hopes for the upcoming technologies such as nanotechnology, bioengineering, artificial-sense-intelligence and wireless, optodigital communication systems. Based on our study we have presented the in-depth conceptual understanding of electromagnetic properties, high frequency responses and potential applications of the new trend artificially fabricated substrate materials - the MTMs, for designing the low profile miniaturized compact dual-band low-profile printed microstrip patch radiator structures, generally used for the satellite communication systems. Also mathematical, theoretical and logical views have been highlighted. Optimization along with many other real time design related issues and limitations, have also been discussed at length for various printed radiating structures. In this paper, the theoretical and analytical studies, and commonly used computer simulation software tools, have been taken into considerations as the first step of our work. Around fifty references have been enlisted in total. This paper will suffice as a compiled resource, for the future antenna and MTM research aspirants and manufacturers, to explore the new opportunities in this novel unnatural zone.
