Abstract :
In this paper, design and development of rectangular sleeve dipole antenna covering more than an octave bandwidth (850-2500 MHz) is presented with measured results. Here a rectangular box type of sleeve is proposed over the cylindrical dipole elements. This antenna is compact in size and covers more than 2.9:1 bandwidth with maximum VSWR 3:1. The antenna was first simulated using CSTtrade microwave studio. The characteristics of fabricated antenna were measured and the comparison plot of simulated and measured results are also presented in this paper.
