Abstract :
The simulated and measured results of a right triangular microstrip patch antenna (30deg - 90deg - 60deg) with and without air gap are presented in this communication. A right triangular patch antenna resonates at a single frequency but on application of small air gap of 1.5 mm between radiating patch and ground plane, it not only resonates at two frequencies but also shows marked improvement in its bandwidth, gain and directivity.
